What You Hear While Brushing Your Teeth!

The sun was shining, the birds singing and I was happily brushing my teeth one morning last week when I was suddenly transfixed by some appalling news that had just come on the Times Radio Breakfast programme.  The newscaster was interviewing the head person in the web organisation tasked with taking down child pornography.  

To my horror she calmly announced that over 800,000 people in the UK watch this on a regular basis.  Of those 8000,000 81% are what they call category A. I was even more horrified when she told us that category A meant that the images shown were of rape and torture and that this involved some children as young as 7 years of age.  

I had just begun brushing my teeth once more when she announced that this number was going up all the time.  The day suddenly became less glorious and the birds seemed to fall silent as I pondered how low the human race has sunk it this is where it gets its entertainment. 

However, as I continued to ponder this dreadful statistic, I came to realise that human beings have always exploited the week and helpless.  This can be further demonstrated when you realises that the number of sexual slaves in the world continues to rise inexorably.  Some of those involved in this dreadful trade are little older than the wretched children who are exploited for pornographic gain on the internet.  

Now nobody has dared to write a book about child pornography.  It would be too awful to read, but I have written a novel about the sexual exploitation of young women for the express purpose of highlighting how appalling the consequences are, for those who are trapped in this dreadful trade in human bodies.
