Information to Action Ratio

It is an incontestable fact that the ‘information to action ratio,’ has changed dramatically in the last one hundred and fifty years.  Gone are the days when people in small communities could take action on any bad bit of news that reached their ears via the local grapevine.  In those days, for example if you heard that your neighbour’s barn was on fire you could grab a bucket and go and help them.  Very little global news ever penetrated these small units.  With the advent of the telegraph all that changed and the change has been accelerating ever since.

Now we know when some famous person sneezes in a far away place even before he has got his handkerchief out of his pocket and there is nothing we can do about it.  We hear too of wars, and famines, earthquakes and uprisings every day and feel powerless to help.  We might even be moved but we have to pass on to the next disaster which is waiting for us on our newsfeeds.

There is something you can do however, about the scandal that is slavery in the 21st century.  You can read the novel, ‘The Garden of Sparkling Delight,’ by Deborah Varen.  This will give you a deep understanding of the trauma a sexual slave endures in our modern world.  This might be taking place as close as the next street to where you sit reading this blog.  Having read it you could then support one of the NGO’s that work to eradicate sexual slavery.  You can even realise how to spot the signs that such slavery is going on and what to do about it.  The novel is available as a free audio download from this site and on YouTube, and as a paperback or Kindle from Amazon.

All profits that accrue from these sales goes direct to the charities listed at the end of the book. Thank you for caring enough to do something about this problem.  You can listen via this link to The Podcast or go to the links at the top of this WEB page and select 'Tis The Podcast'.  There you can listen to the 21 half hours episodes on-line or download for later listening and sharing.

Please recommend 'The Garden of Sparkling Delight' to your friends.  Reviews would be much appreciated.  Thank you so much.
