We have seen her as a little girl playing in the garden’s of Buckingham Palace, we have seen and heard her first words as monarch and we have watched her perform many thousands of engagements in her role as head of state. She has shared time with the great and the good and the humble amongst us and has treated us all with respect and kindliness. But we have also seen scenes of great privilege. There are the race horses, the beautiful houses that she has called home, the jewels and the dresses.
So what dictates that one person is born queen and another is doomed to spend a short life in the horror and degradation of sexual slavery? The answer to that question is that it is a complete accident of birth that makes one a monarch and the other a slave. There is no fairness in it at all. Millions round the world and here in the UK are suffering extreme mental and physical torture as they are forced to become no more that marketable goods to be bought and sold.
To get some idea of what this is like and to compare it to the life the Queen has led, please read ‘The Garden of Sparkling Delight,’ by Deborah Varen. Available from Amazon in paperback and on the Kindle e-reader. We feel that this is an important book as it makes accessible this difficult topic so we have also released a free audio, downloadable version available from this site and on YouTube.
