We all love those statistics that calculate such things as to how far all the sausages we eat in a lifetime would stretch if we put them end to end in a straight line. The results of such calculations often amuse us as we try to get our heads round the sheer numbers of sausages that involves and think how extraordinary it is that we could actually consume all those sausages.
But what if it was bodies of young girls, not sausages that were laid end to end, what then? I have just calculated that if 600,000 girls were arranged like this they would stretch from the United Kingdom to somewhere in the south of France. Can you imagine such a picture?
Who are these young girls? They are the estimated number of young girls involved in Prostitution in Brazil as I write. What if we were to add to that all the trafficked young women in the world and imagine them too laid head to foot in a straight line. Where would they reach to then? My guess is that they might even circle the globe.
Bear in mind the fact that these are not inanimate sausages but real people whose lives are now ruined if not actually terminated , and you will have some idea of the dreadful problem the world faces with sexual slavery.
