Imagine that you are a young African woman. You are sold by your family to people- traffickers who take you on a long journey to the place where you can board a dinghy to take you to Sicily. On the way you are raped and forced to board the boat. One of your problems is that you are, by now ,pregnant and are terrified of what is going to happen to you once on the water. When you get to Sicily your troubles are far from over for you are still the property of the people -traffickers who need to make money out of you. What lies ahead of you are long months and perhaps years of sexual slavery which will ruin your life, damage your body and make you unfit psychologically to ever live a normal life, if you get the chance. Who knows what will happen to your child or whether you will be able to keep it. That is happening on a regular basis as I write. Did you find it easy to imagine that? Probably not.
However help is at hand in the form of the novel, ‘The Garden of Sparkling Delight,’ which gives a graphic account of a similar story and enables you to travel each inch of the way, with the heroine of the story. You will live in her skin and be present in her despair. The novel also tells of love and courage , sacrifice and determination which will warm your heart.
The novel is available from Amazon in hard copy or Kindle, and FREE from this site in a downloadable format in AUDIO for you to listen to on the bus or train, or in your car or while you wash the dishes.
Please read this and join me in my fight for these precious human beings who have been turned into a tradable commodity worth millions of pounds.
