A lot of this is because Sudan has a civil war raging at the moment. These women’s bodies are used as a weapon of war and because of the chaos caused by the Civil War many of them are taken into permanent sexual slavery. Often the women’ s husbands have been killed so there is no one to stand up for them even if they could.
So the question who does their body belong to is not so silly as it sounds. These women belong to the men who have captured them who use their bodies for their own pleasure and also of course as a weapon of war.
