As I write this we are in the midst of President Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Today we were told that the number of refugees fleeing the war is now over a million and many more are being expected to leave if they can. Ukrainians have fled to Poland and surrounding countries just to stay alive. The plight of these folk is the result of Putin’s unscrupulous greed for power.
Also at the mercy of unscrupulous greed are the millions of young men and women who are 21st century slaves. They too are unwilling pawns pushed here and there by those who are greedy for the money that can be made from selling them in the international market place.
Just as the conditions of the Ukrainian refugees is dire so is the plight of our worldwide slave population. To get some idea of just how awful life is for them please read or listen to ‘The Garden of Sparking Delight,’ by Deborah Varen.
The book tells two interlinked stories one of which is sad but the other is a very happy one. It is available as a free download from this website and YouTube.
